Perhaps you’ve seen the children in Haiti who literally eat the mud-cakes made by their mothers to quiet their raging hunger. Come, take part in the “No More Mud-cakes for Haiti” Packaging Event, December 29-30, 2009, at the El Dorado Civic Center,

Roll up your sleeves and help us fill a 40′ container with 285,000 meals of rice, soy protein, freeze-dried vegetables, and a blend of 21 vitamins. These meals were designed to support the immune system of children who suffer from severe malnutrition and hunger. At only 30 cents per meal, which includes the cost of all the ingredients and shipping, you can feed a meal to a family of six for only $1.80.

Our partner, The Salvation Army World Service Office, will deliver these meals to starving children in their schools in Haiti. According to two Numana board members, Senators Bob Dole and George McGovern, the best way to stop world hunger is to feed school children!

The Rise and Rise of Suzuki of Wichita

Is seems like just yesterday that we started selling used cars at the corner of Douglas and West Street.  We showed up the morning of May 15, 1997 determined to change the landscape of the car business in Wichita.

Remember that day?  I said Suzuki and you said “I don’t drive motorcycles.”

Remember the look on your face when I told you we were going to sell 50 Suzuki’s a month in our first year?  You thought I said 50 the first year (I said 600).  You said “I’m sorry, we cannot give you a loan.”  (Thankfully, some of my new banker friends took a chance on our team and we sold 800+ our first full year and joined the President’s Club).

Wichita, KS (February 11, 2009) – American Suzuki Motor Corp. names Suzuki of Wichita to its 2008 President’s Club – making it one of the top 25 dealers in the company’s U.S. dealer network, which totals over 400.  Suzuki Auto dealers qualify for the coveted honor based on annual sales volume and by garnering high customer satisfaction scores in both sales and service categories.

 

“We are thrilled to be a Suzuki President’s Club dealer – and we couldn’t have done it without the support of the community,” said Scott Pitman of Suzuki of Wichita East.  “This is a great opportunity to share our success with other winners from across the country and to be recognized as an integral part of Suzuki’s national operations.”

 

For 2008, Suzuki of Wichita ranked fourth in sales for all Suzuki dealers nationally, and first in sales for the central region.   A key driver of Suzuki of Wichita East’s success was the dealer’s superior customer satisfaction ratings.  Compared with all dealers, Suzuki of Wichita ranked 10th in sales satisfaction as measured by JD Powers and Associates.

 

American Suzuki finished 2008 with sales of 84,865 vehicles, marking the company’s fourth all-time record sales year in the U.S.
